William S. Paden, D.D.S.
Dr. William S. Paden is a native of Alameda and graduated from
Encinal
High School. Following high school, he attended UOP Stockton, where he
received his Bachelor of Science in Biology, Cum Laude. In the fall of
1977, he began dental school at UOP San Francisco and he received his
Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1980. Dr. Paden also received a Master's
degree in Oral Biology from the University of San Francisco.
Dr. Paden is a third-generation orthodontist and has been in
practice
since 1982. Upon completion of his orthodontic residency, Dr. Paden and
his wife, Becky, returned to Alameda to start a practice, as well as a
family. In 1983, Dr. Paden purchased the practice from his father. He
further expanded the practice by opening an office in Brentwood in
1984, where he works two days a week. Dr. Paden has been a member of
both the American Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast
Society of Orthodontists for 30 years and has treated about 9,000
patients (including multi-generations). He is also a member of the
American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the
Alameda County Dental Society, and the Alameda City Dental Group. Dr.
Paden has also been recognized as Best Orthodontist by Children's
Press!
Dr. Paden is a firm believer in modern innovative
orthodontics. By
designing an early treatment appliance using information acquired
through his residency, his father's techniques and association with
senior orthodontists, he has been able to use a combination of
orthopedic and orthodontic techniques in younger patients, with maximum
comfort. Dr. Paden is continually researching state-of-the-art
orthodontic advancements, which include considerable amounts of
experience with Invisalign® and advanced 3D radiography.
Dr. Paden and his family have been active in the community of Alameda
for 100 years. Dr. Paden is a third-generation Rotarian. He has been a
Rotarian for 30 years, which makes him the youngest senior active
member in that organization. Community sports and education have always
been a part of the Paden family. His family is a founding member of the
Alameda Swimming Pool Association (he spends hundreds of hours a year
volunteering), and Dr. Paden is currently active in local age group
swim meets.
Dr. Paden and Becky live in Alameda's Gold Coast. They have
two grown
children. Bill, their oldest, has graduated from ASU and has remained
in Arizona, as a branch manager of Sky Harbor Airport Enterprise
Rent-a-Car. Amanda is currently a graduate of San Jose State and works
at Classic Party Rentals. When Dr. Paden isn't working, he will most
likely be in the sky or on a river. An avid pilot and fly fisherman,
Dr. Paden often enjoys flying friends to fun fishing destinations.
